Posted 6 days ago | Apply before May 29, 2026 State of Idaho Opportunity Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections The Idaho Department of Juvenile Corrections is seeking a teamwork-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Behavioral Health Program Specialist. Responsibilities Daily Operations Work within the IDJC Behavioral Health Unit to help ensure access to behavioral health services for the juvenile justice population. Work with county and state partners to provide assistance on accessing the IDJC behavioral health resources for the juvenile justice population. Work with county and state partners to train them on access to resources. Provide the Program Manager and others with updates as necessary regarding projects assigned related to training, services, or needs throughout the state. Collaborate with IDJC Facilities, Juvenile Detention, Juvenile Probation, and other agencies to ensure full utilization of programs and resources. Update system partners and staff on any relevant information regarding new changes to behavioral health resources/processes impacting county administrators, Courts or other stakeholders. Develop data reports using Excel, and prepare information related to programs and projects. This position focuses on administrative and support functions and does not include any direct client care responsibilities. Training and Technical Assistance Monitor and provide technical assistance to counties, states, and other providers related to behavioral health rules and requirements. Collaborate with system partners to include the Behavioral Health Authority, Office of Drug Policy, among others to develop a comprehensive behavioral health response. Schedule trainings as requested by counties, IDJC or other partners as required. Participate in various committees and workgroups, as assigned, related to adolescent behavioral health in Idaho. Problem Solving Resolve conflicts that may arise with partners, providers, and others. Solicit input from partners regarding juvenile justice training needs. Identify behavioral health gaps and identify solutions. Conduct Literature Search, Review Related Rules, and assess Impact Research national literature to identify best practices in adolescent behavioral health programs and services. Keep informed of latest trends, research, and evidence based treatment interventions for substance use disorder and mental health disorders impacting youth in the juvenile justice system. Additional Duties as Assigned Assist Program manager with planning and coordination of various behavioral health related programs/projects. Detailed review of required expenditure and data reports for accuracy. Develop and prepare contracts and agreements as needed. Represent the department on various committees and workgroups. Approve and process invoices and reimbursement requests. Some overnight travel may be required. Fill in for colleagues in their absence. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Experience: Developing; recommending, and evaluating operating procedures and recommending changes; Developing technical written materials such as policies, technical manuals or rules/regulations; Providing technical program assistance to staff. Desired Qualifications Good working knowledge and experience with Excel. Some Knowledge of juvenile justice programs and/or state systems. Developing and monitoring agreements or contracts or developing/writing procedures. Experience working in the behavioral health field. Some accounting knowledge or payables invoice processing experience with Luma.
