Title: RN - Emergency Room


Location: Baton Rouge, LA


Duration: 3+ Months


Shift: Night Shift, 12 Hours


Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

Job Summary:


We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. The RN will utilize critical thinking, clinical expertise, and evidence-based nursing practices to assess, treat, and monitor patients presenting with acute, urgent, and life-threatening conditions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic healthcare environment.


Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive patient care utilizing the nursing process and established clinical standards.
• Perform assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Rapidly respond to emergency and critical care situations.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately while supporting nursing and ancillary staff.
• Utilize data and clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes and quality of care.
• Promote patient safety, patient satisfaction, and professional nursing excellence.
• Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.


Education:
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.


Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.


Licensure & Certifications:
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current PALS certification.
• Current CPI certification.
• Specialty nursing certification preferred.


Skills & Qualifications:
• Strong emergency assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare software applications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-centered approach to care.


Work Environment:
• High-acuity Emergency Department with rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Routine exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissues, and communicable diseases.
• Potential exposure to hazardous medications and healthcare-related waste.
• Ability to perform heavy physical work, including lifting, repositioning, and assisting patients as needed.


Preferred Candidate Profile:
• Experienced Emergency Room RN with strong acute care and trauma experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI certifications.
• Skilled in emergency interventions, patient stabilization, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment while maintaining excellent patient care standards.
