Transactional Legal Assistant

The Transactional Legal Assistant provides high-level administrative and legal support to multiple corporate attorneys within a fast-paced transactional practice. Responsibilities include drafting, proofreading, editing, and finalizing legal documents such as contracts, agreements, correspondence, closing documents, and entity formation materials. The role also involves assisting with corporate filings and amendments, preparing closing binders, maintaining transaction checklists, and ensuring all deliverables and deadlines are met throughout the course of transactions.

In addition to document support, the Legal Assistant manages attorney calendars, schedules meetings and closings, tracks important deadlines and follow-ups, and coordinates with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties regarding transactional matters. Administrative responsibilities include time entry, expense reporting, billing coordination, travel arrangements, and maintaining strict confidentiality with sensitive client and firm information.

Candidates should have at least 5 years of corporate or transactional legal assistant experience, preferably within a mid-size or large law firm environment supporting multiple attorneys. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, while a bachelor's degree is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with document management systems such as iManage.

This position is based in San Diego and offers a salary range of $95,000–$105,000, along with competitive benefits, 401(k), and profit sharing.
