Mechanical Engineer IV Full Time. Corporate HQ, Webster, TX, US Salary Range: $121,200.00 To $143,400.00 Annually Position Overview Under limited supervision, the Mechanical Engineer IV works cross-functionally with a team to mature designs and to adapt existing product designs to meet customer needs. This position designs battery packs, modules, and safe-storage applications to support one or more of KULR’s product lines or customer builds. Overall, the focus is on battery safety, battery development, and mechanical systems. Functions Designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes; identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Create and/or modify existing CAD Drawings and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Create and/or modify mechanical processes and communicate critical features to the manufacturing team during the development of work instructions. Conducts in-depth analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Develop and facilitate performance-based test procedures for materials, components, and assembled systems to validate design requirements. Aid in assembly of KULR products for customers. Operate 3-D printer(s) for prototyping purposes. Operate CNC(s) and create CAM files for prototyping purposes. Cross-train as needed in additional areas to meet organizational business needs. Review and sign mechanical engineering drawings/prints. Attend all design reviews and provide feedback. Other job-related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Requirements Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering. 7+ years of related experience. Science, technology or math background preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Extensive knowledge and experience with battery and related hardware testing and analysis. Experience with design processes involving cross-system/interface interactions (e.g., mechanical/electrical interfacing). Knowledge of common manufacturing processes and their applicability to mechanical design strategy. Familiarity with manufacturing and machining methods via CNC Mill. Exposure to design of structural/mechanical systems, lithium-ion battery systems. Experience with high energy, high power, and/or high voltage systems preferred. Knowledge of CAD/CAE, specifically AutoCAD, CREO, or SolidWorks. Demonstrated ability to influence others, build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation. Requires flexible work hours and travel. U.S. Citizen required due to federal contract requirements. Successful applicant must meet ITAR requirements. May work beyond 40 hours and weekends as needed. Minimum expected 50 hours per week. Must work during core hours of 8:30am to 4:00pm (flexible remainder).
