Mobile Heavy Duty Mechanic I

Job Summary Mobile Heavy‑Duty Technician Level I –Responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of rental trucks and equipment, handling mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on the job site. Responsibilities Maintain and repair rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Read diagrams, schematic drawings, and service manuals for equipment. Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment. Repair electrical and mechanical components. Maintain knowledge of electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems through ongoing training and technical reading. Carry out the preventative maintenance program for mobile equipment. Observe competitive activities and contribute to the company image and reputation. Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment. Adhere to driving guidelines for company vehicles. Identify and request replacement parts to perform repairs. Complete all paperwork thoroughly and in a timely manner. Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements. Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent. Up to 2 years of experience in a related field. Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment, including gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical schematics. Ability to perform tasks independently. Must have own hand tools. Basic computer skills. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for long periods; perform moderate heavy labor and repetitive tasks. Strong communication skills and effective two‑way communication with individuals and groups. Logical reasoning and problem‑solving, including judging tool and equipment selection and assessing alternative solutions. Pay & Benefits Production‑based pay: $20.10 to $30.10 per flag hour, location dependent. Eligibility for commission and incentive programs. Safety boots and glasses reimbursement.
