• Operate digital fluoroscopic and portable radiology equipment under general supervision to capture routine radiographs of specified body areas as directed by physicians and in accordance with radiographic protocols.

• Apply your radiology expertise to serve patients of all ages while following radiation safety guidelines and organizational policies. Demonstrate proficiency in general radiology and fluoroscopy by acquiring and assessing images for technical quality, ensuring accurate patient identification and image labeling.

• Engage in departmental and organizational initiatives aimed at improving workflows, enhancing patient experiences, and boosting quality, safety, and operational efficiency. Participate actively in training and educational activities for students and staff.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the preparation and cleaning of patient rooms. Ensure adequate supplies and inventory are available in your designated area.

• Communicate effectively with patients to gather medical histories, address inquiries, and explain procedures to ensure their understanding and comfort.

• Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of equipment by conducting quality control checks and promptly reporting any equipment or environmental issues.

• Provide education and support to patients, preparing them for procedures and addressing their physical and emotional needs. Escalate any concerns through the appropriate channels as necessary.

• Manage patient flow and coordinate care through consistent communication with patients, the care team, and families. Document patient care activities in electronic health record systems and ensure timely distribution of final images to the PACS system for interpretation.

• Exhibit professionalism in all interactions, embodying the organization’s values and fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere for patients, families, and colleagues. Comply with the ARRT Standards of Ethics.

• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, professional, and accreditation requirements.

• Follow guidance from leadership to ensure adherence to established protocols, maintain patient flow, and seek clarification when needed.

• Associate’s degree is required.

• A certificate in Radiologic Technology (awarded before January 1, 2015) from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or the Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) is required.

• No prior work experience is necessary.

• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required upon hire in Maryland; must be obtained within 90 days of hire in Washington, DC.

• Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist in the applicable state (Maryland or Virginia) is required upon hire.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Basic computer proficiency is preferred.

This position offers a salary range of USD $29.73 - USD $48.63 per hour.
