Day Shift (4x10's) - LOCATION: SPECIALTY BAKERSFIELD (AHSB) - Call is required and shared equally among the circulating

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.

• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond to changes promptly.

• Maintain sterile technique and ensure safety protocols are followed.

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff to optimize outcomes.

• Document perioperative procedures and patient data accurately in records.

• Assist in preoperative assessment and planning for individual cases.

• Demonstrate a growth mindset by pursuing continuing education and skill enhancement.

• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cycle times in the OR.

• Provide post-anesthesia and recovery guidance to patients and families.

• Adhere to performance metrics and contribute to pipeline-based planning.

• Mentor junior staff and support a high-visibility, results-driven environment.

Experience/Qualifications

• Current RN license with perioperative nursing certification (CNOR preferred).

• Proven OR experience: scrub, circulate, and instrument setup for diverse surgeries.

• Ability to maintain sterile technique and comply with safety protocols consistently.

• Strong intraoperative monitoring skills and rapid response to patient changes.

• Excellent documentation skills for perioperative procedures and patient data.

• Collaborative mindset to work with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development and skill advancement.

• Experience in preoperative assessment and case planning.

• Knowledge of OR efficiency, cycle times, and improvement opportunities.

• Mentor and support junior staff in a high-visibility, results-driven environment.
