Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client, a well-established distribution company, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join their team in Northwest Houston. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability, long-term growth, and the chance to be part of a collaborative accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process invoices, ensuring proper GL coding and approvals
• Accurately enter high-volume invoices received from multiple locations
• Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve invoice and payment discrepancies
• Process weekly check runs, wire transfers, and positive pay uploads
• Maintain vendor records and monitor daily banking activity, including ACH transactions
• Assist with audits, intercompany reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Provide additional accounts payable support as needed

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Associate degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Experience working within a manual accounts payable environment
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
