Job Description
FREEMAN MEDICAL PHARMACY is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to support our retail pharmacy operations under the direction of the Pharmacist-in-Charge. This role emphasizes prescription fulfillment, patient intake, insurance processing, medication inventory, and support while maintaining accurate records, safe dispensing practices, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
-Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently in high-volume retail workflows.
-Support medication dispensing and prescription verification under supervision.
-Manage patient intake, intake verification, and patient communication support.
-Process insurance billing, troubleshoot rejections, and resolve prior authorization issues.
-Maintain accurate medication inventory levels and detailed pharmacy records.
-Provide support as directed by the Pharmacist-in-Charge.
-Handle controlled substances strictly according to state regulations and internal procedures.
-Maintain medication safety standards and uphold regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bilingual Spanish/English preference
-Active State Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure.
-Demonstrated experience with medication dispensing and prescription processing software.
-Background in a retail pharmacy setting.
