Senior Accountant (Renewable Energy)

Job Summary:This position will support the accounting and financial operations of our growing renewable energy portfolio, as well as other IGS Energy ancillary businesses. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and insight across businesses such as Solar and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG).Primary Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & AuditPrepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliationsSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesEnsure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in line with GAAPAnalyze variances and provide explanations to managementSupport external audits by preparing schedules and documentationProject & Asset AccountingAccount for capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to renewable energy projectsTrack project costs, including development, construction, and operational phasesMaintain fixed asset registers and calculate depreciationAccounts & TransactionsProcess journal entries, accruals, and prepaid expensesAssist with accounts payable and receivable activities as neededMonitor cash flow and assist with treasury functionsAnalysis & Stakeholder SupportProvide support for budgeting/forecasting processesCollaborate with partners across different business segmentsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and automationRequired Skills:Education & CertificationBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA (or working toward) preferred, but not requiredExperience3+ years of accounting experienceFamiliarity with project accounting and fixed asset accountingConstruction accounting experience a plusTechnical SkillsAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills requiredProficient in Microsoft Word and OutlookProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains) and AI tools a plusSoft SkillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently without close supervision and collectively with team members, internal and external business partners.Thrives in fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
