Procurement Specialist

The Encompass Group is partnering with a well-established organization in the commercial MEP industry to identify an experienced Buyer/Purchaser to support its high-volume purchasing and warehouse operations.

This position plays a key role in managing procurement activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring the timely availability of materials. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and inventory supporting daily warehouse operations.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, inventory tracking, and reporting using Microsoft Excel.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, warehouse personnel, and management to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counting procedures.
• Utilize SAGE software to process purchasing transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes, improve inventory accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
• Collaborate across departments to support purchasing needs and ensure smooth daily operations.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing experience within a high-volume warehouse, distribution, or related environment.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, data tracking, and reporting.
• Hands-on experience using SAGE software.
• Knowledge of inventory management, physical inventory procedures, and cycle counting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within the MEP, construction, commercial service, or facilities maintenance industries.
• Familiarity with ServiceTrade software (training available).
• Demonstrated ability to improve purchasing processes and operational efficiency.
