Reliable and hardworking Janitorial Maintenance Worker with experience maintaining clean, safe, and orderly facilities. Skilled in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, restrooms, floors, and common spaces; handling routine maintenance tasks; operating cleaning equipment; and identifying and reporting facility issues. Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing high-quality service while working efficiently with minimal supervision.

Description:

Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. Perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Duties may include tending furnace and boiler, performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalk.

What you'll do:

• Set up, arrange, or remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, or scaffolding to prepare facilities for events, such as banquets or meetings.
• Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels, or spread snow-melting chemicals.
• Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or metal instruments, using solvents, brushes, rags, or power cleaning equipment.
• Spray insecticides or fumigants to prevent insect or rodent infestation.
• Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems.
• Clean and restore building interiors damaged by fire, smoke, or water, using commercial cleaning equipment.
• Clean chimneys, flues, and connecting pipes, using power or hand tools.
• Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours or checking electrical appliance use to ensure that hazards are not created.
• Mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, using mowers or hand or power trimmers, and clear debris from grounds.
• Drive vans, industrial trucks, or other vehicles required to travel to, or to perform, cleaning work.

Education: High School

Experience: 12 months

1+ year of janitorial, custodial, or building maintenance experience, Experience cleaning and sanitizing offices, restrooms, floors, and common areas, Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment, Ability to perform basic maintenance and minor repairs, Experience following workplace safety and sanitation procedures, Ability to lift, carry, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks for extended periods, Ability to work independently and manage cleaning tasks efficiently, Dependability, attention to detail, and good time-management skills, High school diploma or equivalent may be preferred, depending on the employer, Previous experience in a commercial, industrial, school, healthcare, or residential facility is often a plus
