Compiler Tech Lead

Role: Compiler Tech Lead Location: SF Bay Area / Toronto | Full-time | Hybrid Compensation: Competitive salary (based on experience & location) + Equity + Bonus About the Role This is your opportunity to take on a leadership role at a mission-driven startup building sustainable AI infrastructure. The team is creating a high-performance, portable compiler that enables developers to “build once, deploy anywhere”—from the cloud to the edge—while optimizing for efficiency and scalability. As Compiler Tech Lead, you’ll provide both technical and team leadership, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and shaping the design of core compiler systems. What You Will Do Lead a team of 3–6 engineers, driving execution and collaboration. Provide mentorship to both junior and senior engineers. Take ownership of major design components and compiler interfaces. Maintain and extend technical design documentation and specifications. Create training material and onboarding content for new hires. Provide thought leadership on compiler architecture and future directions. What You Will Bring 8+ years of experience in compiler or runtime development. 3+ years in a technical/team lead role. Strong expertise in C++. Experience with Git/GitHub workflows. Familiarity with agile methodologies (SCRUM, KANBAN). Preferred: Proficiency in Python 3. Familiarity with PyTorch. Knowledge of OS fundamentals and MLIR.
