CERTIFICATION : Valid Texas Teaching Certificate from the Texas State Board of Educators Certification High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY :
The Section 504/Testing Coordinator shall perform administrative or managerial duties to fully implement the legal and regulatory requirements set forth in the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment of 2008. Additionally, the Section 504/Testing Coordinator shall, under the supervision of the campus principal, coordinate the administration and logistics of the various state testing programs. The Section 504/Testing Coordinator shall organize and supervise the performance of tasks related to test administration, test data entry activities, materials processing, and handle inquiries regarding these test administrations.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: :
SECTION 504 COORDINATOR DUTIES
1. Section 504 Coordinator will ensure compliance with Section 504 policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
2. Section 504 Coordinator will monitor, organize, and facilitate campus Section 504 meetings and development of plans with committee members to ensure timeliness and compliance, including homebound and related services.
3. Section 504 Coordinator will attend district Section 504 trainings and provide campus staff with Section 504 training and onboard new staff throughout the year.
4. Section 504 Coordinator will coordinate the referral process for students suspected of having a disability, including but not limited to students with medical emergencies.
5. Section 504 Coordinator will monitor newly enrolled students with existing Section 504 plans to ensure timely review, transfer, and implementation of accommodations.
6. Section 504 Coordinator will facilitate Manifestation Determination Review Meetings.
7. Section 504 Coordinator will collaborate with teachers, counselors, nurses, and outside providers as appropriate.
8. Section 504 Coordinator will communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding plan updates.
504 TESTING COORDINATOR DUTIES
9. The Campus Testing Coordinator will ensure the integrity and fidelity of all state assessment administrations by attending all required CTC trainings and leading campus-based training to uphold test security, confidentiality, and compliance with state testing procedures.
10. The Campus Testing Coordinator will work alongside campus administration to develop and manage campus testing logistics, oversee the administration of all state assessments, and ensure the accurate submission of score codes and completion of all testing cycle requirements, including test material check-in, for STAAR, TELPAS/TELPAS Alternate, and STAAR Alternate 2 assessments.
11. The Campus Testing Coordinator will maintain accurate records of students requiring paper-based testing, collaborate with the district to verify and submit paper tester lists, oversee the implementation of paper assessments, and ensure the secure return of all paper testing materials for all state assessments.
12. Campus Testing Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with all special population coordinators for the application and accuracy of accommodations for all students served by Special Education, Section 504, LPAC, and MTSS.
13. Campus Testing Coordinator will be responsible for Test Hound and Cambium (TIDE) online testing platforms.
14. Campus Testing Coordinator will implement procedures for device updates and deployment of all technology (e.g., laptops, headphones, etc.) to the appropriate testing rooms for online testers.
15. Campus Testing Coordinator will review, monitor, and maintain a comprehensive and accurate STAAR EOC list for first-time testers, retesters, and homebound testers with counselors and campus administration before each test administration. (December, Spring, and June)
16. Campus Testing Coordinator will coordinate with campus administrators and other campus leaders to improve test procedures and logistical practices and serve as a consultant during test administrations.
17. Campus Testing Coordinator will coordinate with the Campus Leadership Team to provide June STAAR EOC retests.
18.Maintains confidentiality of information.
19.Reports to work on time every day.
20.Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to train other professional staff on the administration and use of tests.
• Ability to work as a vital team member to problem solve with other departments and campus staff as needed.
• Must be detail oriented and customer/client focused.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the district. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently drive District vehicles in the performance of assigned tasks. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is occasionally exposed to rick of electrical shock; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and risk of vibration. The employee is occasionally required to work in confined spaces. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
