Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room SupervisorThe Registered Nurse (RN) will oversee daily operations within the operating room, assisting with surgical schedules, patient flow, and managing both staff and compliance with safety protocols. This role requires expertise in pain management and experience in handling various specialty clinics, including labor and delivery. The RN will be equipped to assist with C-sections and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) responsibilities.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee surgical schedules, room turnover, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations.Provide direct patient care as needed.Handle staffing, shift scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and mentorship for operating room nurses and surgical technologists.Enforce hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and AORN guidelines.Monitor and manage inventory, surgical instruments, and equipment procurement in coordination with central processing and vendors.Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pre/post-operative units to address and resolve patient care issues.Qualifications and RequirementsEducation: Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a degree in a related healthcare field.Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of clinical operating room experience, with prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.Skills: Strong leadership, crisis management, communication, and a working knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile processing techniques is essential.Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.Licensure: Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in Kansas or a multi-state license.Central sterile experience is a plus.Work ScheduleThe position offers flexibility in shifts, with options for either a standard schedule or 4x10-hour shifts. Further details regarding shift preferences should be discussed during the application process.Additional InformationThe RN will be responsible for taking on-call duty approximately 10-14 days per month, specifically for obstetric C-sections.
