Job Description
The Legal Billing & Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in managing the financial operations within a law firm, ensuring accurate billing and accounting practices tailored to legal industry standards. This position requires experience with law firm billing systems and familiarity with trust accounting regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review client invoices accurately and timely
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks
- Ensure compliance with IOLTA (Interest on Lawyer Trust Accounts) regulations when applicable
- Reconcile trust and general ledgers regularly
- Collaborate with attorneys and administrative staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions and billing activities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with accounting or billing in a law firm environment
- Understanding of IOLTA principles and trust accounting
