Job Title

RN – Medical Surgical / Telemetry, Float Pool

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | 36 hours/week expected | Every other weekend | Every other holiday

Key Responsibilities

• Float across multiple units including Med/Surg (orthopedics, urology, neurology, GYN), cardiology/telemetry, surgery, and cardiothoracic, adapting quickly to varying patient populations and unit workflows
• Manage a patient assignment at an average ratio of 5:1, delivering safe and effective nursing care across assigned units
• Independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or better (two attempts permitted)
• Manage titratable IV drips including nitroglycerin, amiodarone, and diltiazem infusions, particularly in IMCU or step-down settings
• Document and coordinate care using Meditech; EPIC experience may also be utilized
• Adhere to scheduling expectations including most Fridays as required — no extended time-off requests or specific schedule accommodations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact license eligibility)
• BLS ACLS , and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 4+ years of recent acute care RN experience
• At least 1 recent, successfully completed travel nursing contract
• Proficiency with Meditech, IV management, and telemetry monitoring
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility will be classified under a local rate structure

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5+ years of RN experience with previous float pool assignments
• IMCU or step-down experience with comfort managing titratable IV drips (nitroglycerin, amiodarone, diltiazem)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Step-down or progressive care background, particularly for night shift consideration
