St. Mary Elementary School is seeking an energetic and dedicated Before & After School Coordinator to lead our vibrant program for the 2025-2026 school year! Location/Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 2:30p-6:00p

Responsibilities:

• Promote the mission of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic School, ensuring a positive and supportive safe environment for all students
• Ensure safety and well-being of children in the before and after school care program, maintaining a secure environment at all times
• Maintain accurate daily attendance records for students and provide necessary documents to central office when required
• Organize and implement engaging daily activities for children 3-12, aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding events, snacks, and schedules, including distributing a monthly calendar of activities
• Collaborate with the Principal, HR Director, and other coordinators to review procedures, lesson plans, inventory, and ensure adherence to policies, training, and child development practice

Qualifications:

• Coordinator must meet one of the following requirements per SD DSS licensing rules:
  • 1.Have a bachelor’s degree in a field of education or human development
  • 2. Have a two-year degree in early childhood education
  • 3. Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, as determined by the department
  • 4. Hold certification in a specific child learning philosophy and have at least one year of experience in a child care setting
  • 5. Have a child development technician diploma
  • 6. Have four years of experience in a center or school age program

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong interpersonal skills are beneficial. Must be adept at caring for children typically aged 3 to 12 years.
• Must be able to comprehend policies, procedures and guidelines

• Adapts well to a variety of tasks
• Problem solving and decision making ability
