General Manager Lead a well-established and growing door business that provides customers with new and replacement doors and/or fixes/repairs existing doors throughout buildings. Commercial manual, automatic door, and hardware industry management applicants with strong operational experience and product knowledge are highly encouraged to apply. Position Overview Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions with full P&L responsibility. Recommend operational and sales procedural/process improvements and implement them to increase customer satisfaction while delivering healthy profit margins and return on sales that meet or exceed the annual financial budget/forecast. Leverage operations/process improvement expertise in a consultative manner with personnel to give employees confidence that they can trust your leadership and any changes they are expected to adopt. Assist with employee/job scheduling and assist with technical/mechanical troubleshooting and problem resolution. Perform regular audits and ensure staff perform the required daily tasks in their respective areas with utilization of the company’s best practices, policies, and procedures. Use division financial reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) and metrics for review and utilization in the management of daily operations. Hire, train, and develop new employees; improve individual performance through daily coaching, monthly P&L and Scorecard reviews, and yearly performance reviews. Effectively lead meetings, set performance expectations, and hold employees accountable. Maintain professional communication in all circumstances with personnel and customers and timely resolve personnel matters and escalated customer concerns. Qualifications Minimum five (5) years of experience managing personnel, projects, sales, and customer service expectations, as well as operational revenues, expenses, and reporting in a leadership position. Service provider industry experience such as HAVAC or another construction/building materials business with products that are sold to end users, installed and/or serviced at customer sites is also considered. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Training: Must be willing and available during first six months of employment to train in Phoenix up to seven times; range from 1‑day to 5‑days per trip with approximately one month’s total time in Phoenix during the first six months. Proficient with Windows‑based programs and ERP/CRM systems and a good understanding/use of Excel. Analytical skills to evaluate operational data, processes, procedures, financial results, survey feedback, and other metrics to determine cause/effect relationships with ability to isolate key information and discern the impact of process or procedural changes. Possess an ability for technical applications and mechanical systems. Good driving record and valid driver’s license required. Successful completion of references, employment verifications, background check, and drug screen required in advance of hire.
