Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a local hospital in York, PA where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. The Respiratory Therapist provides intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Duties include administering physician-prescribed treatments, operating ventilatory equipment, performing suctioning and tracheostomy care, monitoring with oximetry and capnography, performing arterial puncture and 12-lead ECGs, assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube management, and documenting patient response to therapy.

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate or bachelor's degree from a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program.
• Current state Respiratory Therapist license in good standing.
• One year experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS certification.
• Experience operating and maintaining mechanical ventilators and providing invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Experience with suctioning, tracheostomy care, and endotracheal tube management.
• Ability to perform arterial puncture and interpret basic blood gas and ventilatory parameters.
• Experience performing 12-lead ECG and basic arrhythmia recognition.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting, including ICU or step-down units, preferred.
• Experience assisting with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement preferred.

Assignment Details

• Shift pattern: Night, 3x12.
• Position available in a hospital setting in York, PA.
• May be required to transport patients within the facility as part of duties.
