The department's Multiple Subject Credential, including the PK-3 Early Childhood Specialist Instruction and the Bilingual Authorization Programs, certify candidates with their Preliminary Credential to teach in California schools, and the curriculum in the credential program reflects current Teaching Performance Expectations (TPEs), State Standards, and Common Core Standards.Qualifications:MA Degree in elementary education-related fieldExperience as a multiple subject teacher, preferably in one of SFSU's partner school districtsExperience working with student teachers through serving as a cooperating teacher, a student teaching supervisor, or equivalentPrior work in a supervisory role in a school district or university teacher education programStrong working knowledge of CTC Standards for Clinical PracticeKnowledge of local school district structures and programs as relevant to placing and supporting student teachersIdentify and onboard Cooperating Teachers for Multiple Subject, PK-3, and Bilingual AuthorizationMatch teacher candidates with cooperating teachers and maintain accurate placement recordsProvide training for cooperating teachers in accordance with CTC standardsCoordinate process for onboarding and supporting intern teachers enrolled in credential programProvide training and oversight for student teaching supervisorsMaintain records of student teaching supervision evaluation, in accordance with accreditation requirementsDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with partner school districtsEnsure that the department meets CTC clinical practice standards for the Multiple Subject, PK-3 Early Childhood Specialist Instruction, and Bilingual authorization credentialsCollaborate with department chair, staff, and faculty to maintain coherent and supportive teacher preparation pathwaysProfessional Development Opportunities:San Francisco State University supports faculty with professional development opportunities such as ongoing training through the Center for Equity and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CEETL).
