Job Opportunity

Shift Information

This position offers a Day 4x10-Hour shift from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM. Candidates are expected to have flexibility in their schedules as shift variations may occur.

Eligibility

• Perm candidates from any other Providence facility (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months.
• Active compact licenses are honored.
• 2 years of experience required, and first-time travelers with experience are accepted.

Position Requirements

• Certifications Required: BLS (ACLS preferred)
• Pediatric experience is required.
• Candidates must be able to float to the main operating room as needed.

Call Requirements

Call for ambulatory surgery requires:

• 2 weekdays and 1 weekend call on a 6-week schedule

Call hours are specified as follows:

• Monday to Thursday: 5 PM to 9 PM
• Friday: 5 PM to 11 PM
• Saturday: 7 AM to 7 PM
• No call hours on Sundays

Please note that candidates must be able to travel within 30 minutes for call back or stay over at the end of shifts.

Patient Care Details

The role involves circulating for various procedures, primarily in:

• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Urology
• Brachytherapy
• Plastics
• Maxillofacial
• ENT
• Ophthalmology
• Hematology/Oncology
• Orthopedics

The case mix includes:

• 40% Inpatient
• 60% Outpatient
• 20% Pediatrics

Essential Skills

Candidates must possess the following skill sets:

• General Surgery
• Gynecology
• Breast Surgery
• ENT
• Urology
• Pediatrics
• Blood/Blood Products Administration
• Cardioversion/Defibrillation
• Use of Cooling/Warming Blankets
• Drains, Syringe Pumps, and Wound Vac management

Additional Information

Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float can result in assignment termination or jeopardize guaranteed hours.

All communication devices needed to perform job duties will be provided at no cost to the candidate. If a candidate is not provided a mobile phone required for the assignment, reimbursement for work-related cell phone use may be available.
