Job Summary

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse in Salida, Colorado. This role is based in an acute care facility, providing essential nursing care to a diverse patient population, including acute care and swing bed patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient management and optimal outcomes.

Daily responsibilities encompass patient assessment, implementation of therapeutic interventions, patient and family education, and meticulous documentation within the electronic health record.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to acute and swing bed patients.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, evaluate health status, and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, therapies, and treatments, including delegated medical functions.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and self-care.
• Monitor and review patient therapy and treatment plans, adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and thorough documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, teaching, and care coordination efforts.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, ancillary departments, and the healthcare team to address the medical, social, and spiritual needs of patients in a culturally and age-appropriate manner.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights (NOC)
• Hours: 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
• Days per Week: 3 days per week (36 hours total)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend required.
• Call Requirements: Not specified.
• Overtime: Overtime is allowable, but not mandatory.
• Assignment Dates: 8-week contract starting August 24, 2026.

Licensing Requirements

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Colorado.
