Production Operator

Product OperatorProductor Operator uses equipment to load, unload, and transport materials assisting with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line.This position is labor intensive, with a strong element of manual labor and a steady work pace required to support the smooth and continuous flow of production. Work is performed in a non-climate-controlled environment, with both internal and external activities.The current schedule is 12-hour shifts, with a rotating shift change from day to night shift every 2 weeks. One week has 3 scheduled days followed by the second week with 4 scheduled days. Overtime is scheduled as required.Starting pay at $21.00/hr. and progressing to over $25.00/hr. in the first year.ResponsibilitiesMust gain thorough knowledge of all operating and safety procedures. Tasks that may be required, but not limited to:Transport samples, raw materials, and suppliesTransport product by using a hand dolly and powder van (truck)Maintain operating log, prepare labels as required, and accurately record informationOperate pneumatic and other required toolsOperate hoisting equipmentParticipate in Hazmat/Fire BrigadeDrive tractor-trailer rig to move NC trailers, and other tasks as assignedBending, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching above shoulder levelRepetitive pushing & trucking of up to 210 pounds and lifting of up to 55 poundsFinger, hand, and other physical dexterity requiredMust be able to work 12-hour shifts and rotate from day shift to night shift every 14 daysMust be able to perform all job requirements in a non-climate-controlled environmentWeekend work/overtime is requiredQualificationsMust have a GED/High School Diploma or able to achieve passing scores on the Work Keys Skills Test administered by CareerSource Capital RegionSuccessful completion of a comprehensive background check requiredBATFE clearance requiredMust have a valid State Driver LicenseMust be dependable; have an acceptable work record including attendanceMust have the physical dexterity to operate equipment & instrumentationMust have ability to communicate, read & writeMust have the ability to learn/understand oral & written instructionMust be able to pass task certificationsMust have a strong desire to work & have reliable transportation
