Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical / Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 18 months of Med/Surg/Tele experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone) General medical/surgical skillset EPIC experience required Description: The position is for an RN specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The facility has a total of 337 licensed beds. It is a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center. The unit consists of 32 beds with an average census of 32. Patient types include strokes, seizures, altered mental status, generalized weakness, acute kidney injury/chronic kidney disease, falls, cellulitis, and non-healing wounds. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5-6, with potential surge staffing increasing ratios up to 1:7-8. Support within the department includes dedicated phlebotomy services, IV/VAT team, and 24/7 hospitalist support. The nurse will have access to case managers and a nurse educator. Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and advanced monitoring equipment. Traveling between facilities may be required, and floating to other units will occur based on regional needs. The unit has a family-oriented culture.
