Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: Required nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with complex GI surgeries, trauma overflow, and general Med/Tele skill set. Basic cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, foley insertion/management, PCA pump management. Medication drip management including Heparin, blood products, IV fluids, and cardiac drips. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele. The RN will work in an enhanced recovery after surgery unit. The unit consists of 36 beds and cares for patients with complex gastrointestinal surgeries, trauma overflow, and various medical conditions. Patient ratios are typically 1 nurse to 4-6 patients, with potential increases during high staffing periods. Support staff includes charge nurses, hospitalist, intensivist, and respiratory therapists available 24/7. Nurses will not have a telemetry monitoring technician; they will be responsible for reading monitors. Floating to other facilities within the region may be required based on needs, and nurses will be compensated for travel time between locations. Weekend rotation is required every other week, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays, with provisions to make up any contracted hours. Scrub color is navy. Free parking is provided.
