Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: RN Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years Med/Tele RN experience (preferred) License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: General Med/Tele skillset: - Stroke experience - Cardiac rhythm interpretation - Trach care - Peripheral IV starts - Chest tube management - NGT placement - Drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management) - PCA pump management - Medication gtt management including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, intravenous fluids Description: We are seeking an RN specializing in MedSurg/Tele. This position requires functioning as part of a resource team. The facility is a Level I Trauma and Teaching Client. It encompasses a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center. The unit has 36 beds. Patient diagnoses typically include sepsis, respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal disorders, infections, liver failure, and acute/chronic kidney disease. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6, depending on acuity, with surge staffing potentially increasing ratios to 1:7-8. CNA ratio is 1:9. Support staff may include charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is performed by nurses who directly interpret monitor readings. Nurses are expected to float to other facilities within the designated region and scope of practice, when necessary. Weekend rotations are every other weekend, and travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. RTO requests can be approved for up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. Scrubs must be navy.
