Travel Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse (RN)This position is responsible for delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced medical-surgical and telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple patient diagnoses effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care for a variety of medical-surgical conditions.Monitor, assess, and document patient status and response to treatment.Administer medications and therapies in accordance with established protocols.Perform essential nursing skills including IV starts, NG tube placements, and Foley catheter insertions.Care for patients requiring continuous bladder irrigation.Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.Maintain a patient ratio of 1:6.Unit Information25 beds available in the unit, with an additional 12-bed overflow unit.Floating to other units within the organization may be required.Use of Cerner as the electronic medical record system.QualificationsCurrent RN licensure in Indiana is required.Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory.A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry setting is required.Scheduling and AvailabilityThe position primarily operates on a night shift schedule from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.Requests for time off (RTO) are permitted but may be subject to blackout dates during holiday periods.The maximum allowable RTO is 1 week, with the option to extend by another week at the end of the contract.Dress CodeThe standard scrub color for this position is navy blue.Additional InformationAll applicants must ensure that their driver's license and permanent home address are included with their submission.
