With a 99-bed department and a Level 4 trauma designation, the facility provides a dynamic and high-acuity clinical environment with strong physician support.

Opportunity:
Physician (MD) – Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology

Job Details:

• Ongoing locum tenens need to replace a permanent provider, with multiple providers welcome; full weeks only (7-14 day stretches minimum)
• Scheduled shifts are Monday 7a to Monday 7a with 12-hour in-house coverage for rounding, consulting, and procedures Monday through Sunday, 7a-7p
• Call back required between 7p and 7a; 24-hour call coverage required
• 15 patient encounters per shift
• Must be able to perform both ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) and EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) procedures — both are required
• Higher acuity GI need; GI fellowship is preferred
• Board Certification is required
• Active New Mexico medical license required — providers not licensed in NM will not be considered
• Active NM Board of Pharmacy registration required
• Active DEA that can be dedicated to NM is required — provider must have their own DEA; no facility DEA is available
• 100% clean background required for temporary privileges
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Credentialing timeframe is approximately 90 days
• Nearest airport is Albuquerque International Airport
• Locums to permanent candidates are welcome
