Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-hour shifts | 36/48-hour weekly option | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as scheduled

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting serving all age ranges from infant to geriatric
• Manage a broad range of complex and varied patient diagnoses within a high-volume ED environment
• Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4 within a 47-bed department averaging a daily census of 130
• Float within the Emergency Department specialty as required
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including every-other-weekend and holiday coverage as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact RN license at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• Current PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the only accepted online vendor)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of Emergency Room nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience, particularly in a high-acuity ED environment
• Comfort with floating within scope and specialty with no restrictions
