Leasing Manager - Apartment Community

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Leasing Manager role based in Memphis, TN. This is a high-volume environment and requires high organization and energy. The Leasing Manager oversees day-to-day leasing operations, including managing the leasing process from initial contact and tours through application, approval, and move-in. This role coordinates lease administration activities, maintains accurate records, and ensures compliance with community policies and applicable regulations. The Leasing Manager oversees multiple leasing agents, providing direction, oversight and training, and is ultimately responsible for the team's outcomes. The Leasing Manager conducts regular market research to stay informed about competitive properties, rental trends, and local demand, using this information to support pricing and marketing decisions. Daily responsibilities include building strong relationships with current and prospective residents, supporting resident retention initiatives, collaborating with property management and maintenance teams, and helping ensure that the community meets occupancy and revenue goals.

Qualifications

• Leasing and lease-related skills: experience with leases, lease administration, and guiding residents through the leasing process.
• Management skills, including ability to provide clear instruction and proactively build a cohesive and collaborative team environment.
• Property and resident-focused skills: background in property management and resident retention, with a commitment to delivering responsive, high-quality service.
• Analytical and market skills: ability to perform market research, analyze competitive properties, and support pricing and marketing strategies.
• Communication and interpersonal skills: strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to build positive relationships with residents, prospects, and team members.
• Organizational and administrative skills: proficiency in managing documentation, scheduling, and follow-up, with attention to detail and reliability.
• Technical skills: familiarity with property management and leasing software and basic office applications.
• Experience and education: prior experience in multifamily leasing or property management is highly beneficial; relevant training or education in real estate, business, or a related field is a plus.
• Professional qualities: results-oriented, able to work on-site with a flexible schedule including some evenings or weekends as needed, and committed to fair housing and non-discriminatory practices.
