The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Guilderland is currently seeking TWO Full-Time Unit Clerk.

Mon-FRI 8am-4pm

Pay Ranges: $18.00- $20.00

*NOW OFFERING SAME DAY PAY*

Requirements

• Must have a High School degree of equivalent

• Must display a solid work ethic.

Duties Include:

• Keep patient records accurately identified.

• Communicate with members of the health care team, patients, and visitors using verbal and written means and equipment such as the telephone and intercom. 

• Transcribe nurse’s orders per policy.

• Assist nursing staff in making unoccupied beds and to fill the clean utility rooms with fresh linens (bed pads, washcloths, towels, etc.)

• Assist recreation aides in transporting to and from activities, rehab and appointments as needed

• Prepare and maintain the unit’s medical information system including patient profiles.

• Check charts daily for incomplete histories and operative summaries and brings these to the attention of the appropriate member of the health care team for correction. 

• Report any unusual resident behavior to the aide and nursing staff.  

• Prepare special forms and may obtain closed records from Medical Records.

• Complete requests for nonmedical services such as beauty shop appointments

• Send profile and change-of-bed status on patient admission, discharge, and transfer.

• Stock and manage supplies such as linens, IV supplies

• Assists with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit. Check to ensure accurate charging of exchange-cart items.

• Perform clerical duties such as making copies and faxing documents.

• Greet visitors /consultants etc. to the unit, assist as needed. 

• Answer incoming calls and route callers to the correct extension.

• Track appointments (ordered vs completed).

• Upload forms, consultations, resident records etc. to the electronic medical record.
