This position is located in roy, ut and supports the sentinel program.what you'll get to do:The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and release of multiple cable/harness engineering design solutions and product definition packages (pdp's). This role provides the opportunity to handle multiple assignments in a dynamic lab test environment to meet program needs. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:Develop interconnect diagrams for the test line, test event and hw configurationsDesign and release multiple harness/cable designs to support lab testingPerform voltage drop analysisProvide support to manufacturing, procurement, lab integration and testDesign and implement test and measurement systems in a lab space.basic qualificationsPrincipal electrical engineer:Bachelor's degree in a stem field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) with 5 years or experience; or master's degree with 3 years of experience; phd with 1 years of experience3+ years of experience using cad design tools (i.e. nx, catia, capital, etc.).3+ years of cable/harness design experience (harness fabrication, component ]back-shell, connector, cable and wire] selection and installation processes), preferably following military and/or aviation standards, and/or with hands-on experience.electrical engineer:Bachelor's degree in a stem field (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) with 2 years of experience or master's degree with 0 years of experience1+ years of experience using cad design tools (i.e. nx, catia, capital, etc.).1+ years of experience with cable/harness design, preferably following military and/or aviation standards.required for both levels:Must be a u.s. citizen with an active u.s. government dod secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope (< 6 yrs), with an ability to obtain and maintain sap approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need.Familiarity with industry cable and harness standards such as: ipc/whma-a-620, nasa-std-8739.4 and as50881.Ability to effectively communicate issues and help provide solutions across multiple teams/disciplinesAbility to operate independently with minimal supervision.preferred qualifications:Has been previously approved for special access program (sap)Electrical engineering degreeAt least 1 year of experience with basic data signal types (mil-std-1553, rs-422, can etc.).Experience with parts, materials and processes for electrical harness related to power distribution, communication and high-speed data signal applications, as well as manufacturing support.Experience with siemens capital (aka mentor capital) or similar e-cad programExperience in design tools such as microsoft visio, rapidharness, capital, teamcenter, etc.Experience in creating a pdp or pdp-like plm productExperience with teamcenter or similar plm productExperience with wire gauge sizing, voltage drop analysis, and derating analysis.Experience with electro-mechanical or instrumentation system development and design.Experience with data acquisition and instrumentation systems.Experience with emi/rf principles and their application to harness shielding.as a full-time employee of northrop grumman, you are eligible for our robust benefits package including:Medical, dental & vision coverage401kEducational assistanceLife insuranceEmployee assistance programs & work/life solutionsPaid time offHealth & wellness resourcesEmployee discountsThis position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day monday through thursday to take every other friday off.primary level salary range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00secondary level salary range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, northrop grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in vice president or director positions may be eligible for long term incentives.
