Kitchen Manager

We're building a kitchen team that takes pride in great food, consistency, teamwork, and keeping up when the restaurant gets busy. If you bring the hustle and care about what comes out of your kitchen, we want you on our opening team.

We are looking for a Kitchen Manager to supervise daily back of house restaurant operations.
Kitchen Manager responsibilities include supervising the food prep and cooking, maintaining a fully-stocked kitchen inventory and complying with safety and cleanliness standards. To be successful in this role, you should be able to manage our kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time.
This role requires flexibility, as the Kitchen Manager will assist at multiple restaurant locations and may support operations across multiple affiliated companies as business needs require. As well as, this position requires a commitment of approximately 55 hours per week and availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience.
Responsibilities:

• Recruit, hire, schedule, and train kitchen staff
• Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
• Supervise food prep and cooking
• Check food plating and temperature
• Establish portion sizes
• Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
• Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
• Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
• Ensure that FIFO procedures are followed accordingly
• Manage Budgets and Control Costs
• Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the kitchen area
• Oversee the planning, preparation, and execution of special events, catering orders, or private functions

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager, Restaurant Manager or Head Chef
• Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
• Knowledge of a wide range of recipes
• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations
• Excellent organizational skills
• Conflict management abilities
• Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
• Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends
• Certification from a culinary school or degree in Restaurant Management is a plus

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, and move items associated with restaurant operations. The position requires working in a fast-paced restaurant environment and may involve exposure to heat, cold, noise, food preparation equipment, cleaning products, and wet floors.
