Occupational Safety And Health Specialist
Duties
You will be responsible for planning, implementing, administering, evaluating, and improving occupational safety, occupational health, and environmental safety program elements.
You will apply occupational safety and health principles, industrial safety practices, and applicable regulatory requirements to ship repair, industrial, construction, and maritime operations.
You will develop, update, and recommend instructions, procedures, educational materials, and local implementing guidance for assigned program requirements.
You will conduct workplace, industrial, shipboard, and contractor-facility inspections and surveys.
You will maintain records of inspections, investigations, mishaps, near misses, fires, spills, and safety or environmental violations.
You will compile and analyze statistical information as well as prepare charts, tables, and reports.
You will advise on detection, control, and elimination of unsafe and unhealthful working conditions at shore-side locations and aboard ships.
You will develop and distribute safety materials, articles and other communications addressing recurring or emerging safety concerns.
