What You’ll Do As an Epidemiology Investigator 3, you will broaden and strengthen your existing skillsets in research, project management, program evaluation, statistical analysis, and technical writing. Your work will collect and analyze program data that drives improvements in health outcomes and measures program impact. Primary Duties Initiate, propose, and conduct epidemiological projects, research, evaluations, and investigations pertaining to HIV infection within the Ryan White Part B and Ohio HIV Drug Assistance Programs. Conduct computerized statistical analysis of data from multiple sources using software such as SAS. Determine access to and retention in HIV medical care meeting national treatment standards. Prepare (or direct preparation of) technical reports from analysis. Assist with outcome evaluations of HIV prevention, treatment, and service programs. Provide technical information, advice, and guidance on HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases to other ODH program areas, external agencies, planning groups, advisory boards, and the general public. Unusual Working Conditions May require travel. May be away from home and normal work site up to 30 days during emergencies; may be exposed to contagious and communicable diseases and toxic or hazardous chemicals. Minimum Qualifications Completion of a graduate core program in public health or preventive medicine. Three courses or nine months experience in use of statistical computer software packages. Six months experience as an epidemiology investigator with a local or federal health agency. Must be able to provide own transportation. OR Six months experience as Epidemiology Investigator 2, 65762. Must be able to provide own transportation. Preferred Qualifications Graduate or advanced degree in public health or preventive medicine. Experience with database, spreadsheet, word processing, and data presentation software packages. Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting health-related data. Experience with statistical software such as SAS. Experience developing scientific or technical reports. Experience delivering oral presentations. Experience working with local health jurisdictions or health care providers. Experience as a lead worker. Benefits Union membership with OCSEA.
