Certified Medical Assistant - Night Shift

Job Summary We are looking for a full‑time Certified Medical Assistant to support medical and safety efforts at a large scale construction site located in Boise, ID. This project is anticipated to last multiple years with exact timing to be determined by client requirements. The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical, administrative, and occupational health services under the oversight of the Onsite Registered Nurse (RN), Program Manager (PM), Clinic Manager/Nurse Practitioner (NP), and Consulting Medical Director (CMD). Responsibilities include administrative clinic operations, patient intake and care, special client requests, inventory management, and other occupational and environmental health services as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Duties Performing diagnostic testing such as vital signs, EKG, audiogram, pulmonary function test, vision acuity, and respirator fit testing. Performing Wellness Testing (body fat, aerobic capacity assessment, upper body strength, etc.) and counseling (diet, exercise, tobacco cessation, etc.). Preparing patients for examinations and assisting during exams. Taking and recording vital signs: measuring blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates. Taking and recording patient medical histories. General Administrative Duties Answering phones, greeting patients, and managing correspondence. Managing patient appointments and maintaining scheduling systems. Updating and managing patient medical records. Ordering and maintaining medical & office supplies. Updating the medication/supply expiration binder. Workers' Compensation Case Management Assisting in managing the workers' compensation case management program. Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent with at least 2 years of directly applicable experience. Knowledge and skills equivalent to those acquired through an accredited Medical Assistant education program, including basic medical terminology and reporting. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant. Must have a current BLS certification. Must hold a valid driver’s license. One to three years of experience in the healthcare field or a related area. Occupational health experience preferred. Certification in phlebotomy preferred. Willingness and ability to obtain HIPAA certification upon hire. Skills and Competencies Excellent patient relations skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Ability to work with minimal supervision while seeking guidance when needed. Strong self‑motivation; proactive, high‑energy, enthusiastic, "can do" work ethic; ability to handle stress and tolerate ambiguity. Ability to maintain punctuality and good attendance. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Internet, and email programs such as Outlook. Physical Demands Requires sitting for long periods, working at a desk. Some bending and stretching may be required. Working under stress and using computer/phone required. Manual dexterity required for computer keyboard use. Occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Work Environment Mainly indoor office environment conditions. Noisy level usually moderate. Air quality good and temperature controlled. This position has an hourly pay range of $27.00 - $28.50 per hour. Final compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications.
