Hours Shift Start Time: 7 PM Shift End Time: 7:30 AM AWS Hours Requirement: 12/36 - 12 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information Weekend Requirements: Every Other On-Call Required: No Pay Range $44.670 - $56.760 - $68.850 This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with CNA. What You Will Do The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who performs patient assessment, develops, implements and evaluates effectiveness of an interdisciplinary plan of care for patient populations with various diagnoses. Maintains professional standards of conduct and ethics as outlined in department expectations and professional organizations. Provides education to patients, families, caregivers and other health professionals. Assists in the supervision of other staff members, students and volunteers, as appropriate. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to patients'/caregivers' rights, as identified within the institution. Required Qualifications Experienced NICU RN: Six (6) months of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, required. California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing - REQUIRED AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - Various-Employee provides certificate - REQUIRED Other Qualification Requirements Current STABLE certification, preferred Essential Functions Coordinate the interprofessional health care team to deliver safe, efficient, patient-centered, timely and equitable care. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify patient-specific needs. Develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and evaluate patient interventional responses ensuring swift follow-up as needed. Act as patient advocate and protect patient dignity and confidentiality. Evaluate effectiveness of care provided by all health care team members, including oneself, and contribution of systems and environment in progressing patients toward desired outcomes. Provide education to patients and families about medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications. Advocate for evidence-based practices in NICU care. Maintain a safe, clean working environment, adhering to infection control and hospital policies. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Comply with hospital and regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission and OSHA guidelines. Adhere to facility policies to ensure safe care. Identify and report safety concerns; demonstrate willingness to address pervasive systemic issues. Accurately document care measures, interventions, patient progress, and any incidents in the electronic medical record (EMR). Provide mentorship to New Graduate Nurses and students, fostering their professional development. Participate in professional development activities, including continuing education, certifications, workshops and quality improvement initiatives. Act decisively in critical situations, such as cardiac arrest, demonstrating advanced clinical skills and composure under pressure. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Technical Skills: Proficient in operating advanced critical care related equipment and technology. Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and critical care related pharmacology. Understanding in managing Procedural sterile fields and ensuring adherence to procedural protocols. Proficient in responding to neonatal emergencies, including at time of delivery. Critical Thinking: Rapid decision-making skills in high-pressure environments. Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to dynamic cases. Communication: Effective verbal and written communication with the NICU team, patients, and families.
