Retail Sales Merchandiser

Position Overview Keep our communities fed. As a Merchandiser with Davidson Specialty Foods, you will become a key part of ensuring that local grocery stores have stocked shelves and can continue to supply their consumers. Job Description Pay: $19 – $21/hr (Based on relevant experience) Job Type: Full-Time Territory: Waterbury, CT & Western CT (Watertown, Southbury, Naugatuck, Newtown, Southington, Bristol, Wilton, New Milford, New Fairfield) 10% travel to Central CT & Northwest Schedule 5-day work week (flexibility needed for weekends/holidays) Flex start: 7:00am – 3:30pm; 8:00am – 4:00pm; 9:00am – 5:00pm Key Responsibilities Travel daily to local grocery stores and supermarkets in an assigned territory Assist with new display setups and reset existing displays of product Pack out grocery orders when needed Follow planograms to adjust shelves and move inventory accordingly Clean, straighten, and organize shelves Remain accountable to completion of work by assigned due dates Ensure transportation to get to and from work Travel/Mobility: Yes Benefits Paid training provided Weekly pay Travel reimbursement Mileage reimbursement Tuition reimbursement Benefits available from day 1 (medical, dental, vision, company-matched 401k) PTO and holiday pay offered Career progression opportunities Employee health & wellness program Employee discounts / purchasing programs Employee assistance program Work Environment Office temperature about 65°F to 75°F Store temperature about 65°F to 75°F Travel: On the road Desired Qualifications Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers. Ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations and respond promptly to customer needs. Willingness to solicit customer feedback to improve service. Communication skills including speaking clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Capability to read and interpret written information and comprehend simple instructions.
