Position Title: Registered Nurse

Location: Rochester, NY 14621-3011

Duration: 13 weeks

Work Schedule: Days/Nights

Guaranteed hours: 48 hrs

Pay rate: $60-$65/hr.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

• The RN will provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, monitor cardiac rhythms, administer treatments, manage IV therapy, and respond to changes in patient conditions. The nurse must be comfortable managing a 1:5 patient ratio, collaborating with the healthcare team, and floating to other units within their competency.
• Provide direct care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize and manage dysrhythmias.
• Respond to emergencies using Rapid Response and Code teams.
• Administer oxygen and provide non-invasive airway support.
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management.
• Follow isolation precautions and infection-control protocols.
• Document patient care accurately in Epic.
• Float to other units within the nurse's skill set.
• Work every other weekend and be available for every other holiday, if needed.

Requirements

• Active New York single-state RN license (pending licenses not accepted).
• Current BLS and valid NIHSS certifications.
• Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience with Epic charting.
• Cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response/Code team experience.
• Clinical skills in oxygen administration, IV therapy, phlebotomy, peripheral line management, and isolation precautions.
• Patient ratio: 1:5.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Distance restriction: Candidates living within 75 miles of Rochester General Hospital are not eligible.
