Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow. Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies. Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. Responds to Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR according to the American Heart Association and performs other duties as directed. Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations for efficient delivery methods per protocol. Obtains, analyzes and reports findings of arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed. Maintains airway management including proper use of manual resuscitators, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, and airway suctioning. Initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators to include basic conventional modes of ventilation per policy and procedure. Uses patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and confers with the multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost- and time-efficient manner, making appropriate recommendations and changes per department protocol. Qualifications Education Associate (Required) Field Of Study Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science Work Experience 1+ year of critical care experience (Preferred) Licenses And Certifications FL Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) [Required] Basic Life Support - CPR Certification (BLS) [Required] Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) [Required] Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) [Required] Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) [Required] Physical Requirements: See linked document for work requirements.
