Development Experience Consultant Location: Columbia, SC. Interview Process 1 Round of Onsite Interviews Work Location: Fully Onsite – NO remote work Candidate must be a current SC resident. No relocation allowed. Scope of the Project Consultant and Advisor to the DORWAY developers. Share technical knowledge, give direction, guidance, and suggestions to the DORWAY developers to implement application, programming, and coding changes. Serve as a senior developer. Configure key components, develop, and apply solutions within DORWAY environments. Lead role in managing minor DORWAY projects. Under general supervision, the contractor will serve as an engineer reporting directly to a functional manager and ensure stability and integrity of data and server services through monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all server infrastructure. 24/7 on‑call responsibilities shared with the group. Daily Duties / Responsibilities Non‑Technical Effectively interact and communicate with peers to Director‑level IT professionals. Provide feedback to team regarding product issues, enhancements, and new features. Have initiative, drive, and be a self‑starter. Ask pertinent questions of others. Proactively seek to identify, communicate, and implement process‑related improvements. Effectively manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently and provide periodic status updates to key stakeholders. Collaborate extensively with peers and management to resolve client issues while contributing to a growing knowledge network that improves effectiveness and information available to clients. Prioritize numerous issues of varying severity, manage resolution within accepted service levels, and own data entered into the helpdesk system, updating client and employees of status of all issues on a timely basis. Good customer skills, detail‑oriented, and responsive to customer tickets. Technical Troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions for customer issues related to backup configuration and recovery. Develop workaround solutions as appropriate. Perform equipment and software upgrades. Maintain familiarity with current computer and network products. Adhere to corporate information security guidelines and promote information security among coworkers. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Required Skills (rank in order of importance) 20+ Years of experience with VB.NET. 20+ Years of experience with SQL. 20+ Years of experience with State Government Tax Systems. 20+ Years of experience as a developer. Preferred Skills (rank in order of importance) GENTAX Experience. Additional Skills Communication. Analytical. Problem Solving. Planning. Time Management. Required Education/Certifications A bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and four years of experience in information technology systems or related area.
