JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-Gulf Coast Medical Center-AP-Physician-0103 Profession: Physician Specialty: Interventional Cardiology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Myers, Florida Facility: Gulf Coast Medical Center Health System: Lee Health - Locums Coverage Period: Oct 26, 2026 Jan 01, 2027 Shift Schedule: Weekend rounding 8a-5p and call coverage (5p Fri-8a Mon) Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 18-28 patients per day at GCMC, up to 20 at HPMC Case Mix: Interventional cardiology procedures including Cath/PCI, TEE, Cardioversion Rounding: Included (weekend rounding) Phone Consults: Yes, primarily phone with in-person for STEMI FACILITY INFORMATION Specialty Backup Available: Yes, 3 general cardiologists and APPs Support Staff Available: APPs PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes REQUIRED PROCEDURES Cath/PCI TEE Cardioversion DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide weekend rounding coverage for cardiology patients (8a-5p Saturday and Sunday). Provide call coverage from Friday 5pm to Monday 8am, including STEMI response. Perform interventional cardiology procedures: cardiac catheterization/PCI, TEE, cardioversion. Collaborate with APPs and general cardiologists for patient management. Respond to in-person STEMI alerts as needed.
