Analyst/Developer - Specialty 2

Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an Analyst/Developer – Specialty 2 (Application Operations Tier 2 Support) . The work will be done hybrid in Chicago or Peoria, IL, currently 2 days per week onsite with the possibility of increasing to 5 days onsite in the future . This is a 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $60/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay). Job Summary We are seeking an Application Operations professional to provide Tier 2 production support for cloud-based applications . This role will troubleshoot and resolve application, API, database, and data-flow issues while monitoring application availability and performance. The position will also develop scripts, automation, monitoring, and alerting capabilities to proactively identify and correct application issues. The ideal candidate combines hands‑on AWS, SQL/Snowflake, API troubleshooting, monitoring, and scripting experience with a strong application‑support background. Key Responsibilities Triage, investigate, and resolve application support tickets according to defined SLAs. Troubleshoot critical application, API, database, and data-flow issues and perform root-cause analysis. Monitor application availability and performance and respond to production issues, including occasional off-shift and weekend support calls . Develop Python or related scripts and automation tools to detect and correct application issues. Develop monitoring and alerting capabilities and document resolutions while providing follow-up to requestors. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience , or technical certification with substantial relevant experience. 2–4 years of hands-on Application Support experience , including at least 2 years supporting cloud-based applications. Hands-on experience with AWS services , including EC2, S3, VPC, Route 53, RDS, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, ELB, ECS, CloudFront/WAF, SQS, SNS, and related services. Strong relational database and SQL querying experience, preferably with Snowflake . Experience troubleshooting APIs, UI issues, and application data flows . Experience with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Grafana, or ThousandEyes . Scripting/programming experience with Python, PowerShell, SQL, and JSON . Understanding of high-availability architecture and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. Preferred Qualifications Background in data management, data engineering, or data operations . Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) pipeline frameworks . Experience developing automation for application-support operations. Experience improving application availability and performance in an SRE environment . Working knowledge of deploying autoscaling capabilities. Why This Role?
