This position will serve as legal advisor to Cincinnati Re, providing strategic legal guidance across all aspects of the business, with a particular focus on reinsurance regulatory matters, corporate governance, compliance, transactional support and reinsurance contract wording review and analysis. The position is fully remote.Salary : The pay range for this position is $175,000 - $225,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.Be ready to:serve as a legal advisor to the Cincinnati Re business, providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel to underwriting, claims, operations, finance, and senior managementadvise on U.S. and international reinsurance regulatory matters, including licensing, regulatory filings, corporate governance requirements, market conduct considerations, and ongoing compliance obligationsmonitor, analyze, and communicate legal and regulatory developments affecting the reinsurance industry and assess their impact on Cincinnati Re’s business activitiespartner with compliance and business stakeholders to develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls designed to meet applicable legal and regulatory requirementsprovide legal support for strategic initiatives, new markets, and reinsurance transactionsidentify, assess, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks across the Cincinnati Re organizationreview, analyze, draft, and negotiate assumed and ceded reinsurance agreements and related transaction documentsprovide legal guidance regarding the interpretation and administration of reinsurance contract provisions and assist in resolving contractual issues that arise during the life of an agreementadvise underwriters and business leaders regarding contract wording trends, market practices, emerging legal issues, and regulatory developmentscollaborate with claims professionals regarding coverage, claims, and reinsurance recovery matters when legal support is neededmanage relationships with outside counsel and regulators, as appropriateprepare legal memoranda, presentations, and training materials for business stakeholderseffectively manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines in a dynamic business environmentQualificationsBe equipped with:substantial experience advising insurance, reinsurance, or other financial services organizations on legal and regulatory mattersstrong knowledge of insurance and reinsurance laws, regulations, regulatory frameworks, and industry practicesworking knowledge of reinsurance structures, underwriting practices, and claims processesexperience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and interpreting reinsurance contracts and related commercial agreementsexcellent legal research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsexceptional written and verbal communication skillsthe ability to translate complex legal and regulatory issues into practical business advicestrong attention to detail and sound legal judgmentthe ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across multiple departmentsproficiency with Outlook, Word, Adobe, Excel, and other business technologiesa proactive, solution-oriented approach to legal and regulatory challengesBring education and experience from:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolactive membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bara minimum of five years of legal experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or a related regulated industrysignificant experience handling insurance and reinsurance regulatory mattersexperience reviewing and negotiating reinsurance agreements and contract wording issues preferredexperience at a reinsurance company, insurance company, law firm, or insurance regulatory authority preferredEnhance your talents Providing outstanding service and developing strong relationships with our independent agents are hallmarks of our company.
