The successful candidate will be a senior executive with a minimum of 10 years' experience in regulatory affairs, advocacy, or a related field within the aviation industry. This role demands a deep understanding of the U.S. aviation regulatory environment, including FAA, DOT, TSA, and other relevant agencies, and a proven track record in policy development, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement. The VP will be responsible for developing and implementing regulatory strategies, monitoring and analyzing regulatory developments, and representing the company in interactions with government bodies. Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively across departments. Applicants for the Vice President of Regulatory Affairs position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in law, public policy, aviation management, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. Experience working for a regulatory agency such as the DOT, FAA, DHS, or TSA is also a plus. The role involves direct engagement with industry stakeholders and the company's members, so the ability to understand and address their regulatory concerns is crucial. The VP will also be involved in policy development, preparing and presenting formal comments on regulations, and ensuring the company's compliance with existing and new regulations.
