Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required | Holidays included in rotation

Key Responsibilities

• Float across MedSurg Telemetry and PCU units on two campuses, including coverage for inpatients holding in the ED
• Provide care for a diverse patient population including geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG (post-op day 3–4) patients
• Titrate and manage IV drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Interpret cardiac monitor strips; monitor techs are available for PCU and MedSurg Tele, but nurses must be independently capable of strip interpretation
• Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow in applicable units
• Care for groin sites in the stepdown unit and support post-procedural cardiac patients from a strong cath lab program

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract start
• Comfort titrating the majority of drips listed above independently
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with MedSurg Telemetry in addition to PCU or stepdown settings
• Experience managing CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow oxygen therapy
