Assistant professor opening in cognitive and affective neuroscience

Department: WCAS Psychology The Department of Psychology at Northwestern University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the department's Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Program. Applicants should have a research focus in Cognitive Neuroscience, Affective Neuroscience, or a closely related discipline. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2027. The position is full time, and progress will be evaluated through a reappointment process mid-way along the tenure clock. The successful candidate will maintain an active, independent research program, teach a combination of graduate and undergraduate courses, and fulfill department service obligations commensurate with rank. PhD or similar terminal degree required. Salary The expected base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000. This base pay range is for a nine-month academic appointment, does not include summer salary, and is subject to negotiation. Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
