ENTRY Phlebotomist I

Pay Range: $12.75hr - $17.75hr


Job Overview:


The Entry Patient Service Representative I/Lobby Experience Coordinator (LEC) assists with patient care by greeting patients upon arrival and answering any questions or concerns with care and compassion. The candidate will help maintain the integrity of the waiting area and assist with breaks when other Phlebotomists are unavailable. The successful candidate will utilize Phlebotomy skills to grow within the organization. The candidate has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining what to expect regarding scheduled procedures in a safe and accurate manner. The candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer care while focusing on process skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.


Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the area supervisor, the candidate will perform daily activities accurately and on time. The candidate is responsible for maintaining a safe and professional environment and keeping required records and documentation. The successful candidate demonstrates organizational commitment and promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public, along with a willingness to learn new skills.


Requirements:


A high level of customer service experience and skills are critical to the heart of this role.

• Ability to handle patients with care and compassion while assisting with check-ins in the lobby through either a self-service kiosk or handheld tablet.
• Willingness to work both in the lobby and in a draw room with patients to help with breaks that need to be covered.
• Ability to perform with confidence both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy experience is required, including internship or externship experience to learn the basics.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of client-facing customer service experience is required (e.g., Retail, Home Health Aide).
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Keyboard and data entry experience is essential.

Additional Information:


This is primarily a Lobby Greeter position to help patients check in at the kiosk and to help them feel more comfortable while waiting to be called back for their labs. The candidate will fill in for breaks and cover for staffing shortages.
