Registered Nurse - Psychiatric

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care to adult patients in a secure inpatient behavioral health setting. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver tailored treatment plans and support patient recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' mental health status and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups focused on coping skills, medication education, and emotional support.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and discharge planners to coordinate patient care and transition.
• Document patient progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with psychiatric nursing experience or education.
• Proven ability to assess mental health conditions and implement appropriate interventions.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
• Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapies, and safety procedures.
• Ability to manage crisis situations calmly and effectively.
• Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS) preferred.
